Photo of the week – Delicate Arch, Arches National Park
Posted on 24 Mar 2011 | by Ben | Filed under Blog
The Delicate Arch in Utah’s Arches National Park is the most famous of over 2,000 arches in this otherworldly destination. It also appears on the Utah number plate. I could have spent days here taking photos of the formations, a true photographer’s paradise.
In this shot I climbed down into the circular bowl below the arch to get a different angle on such a well photographed subject. I also used a 10mm lens to capture the magnitude of the surroundings. If you take a close look below the arch you will see a tiny figure.
I hope you like it. Let me know what you think.

That is very beautiful…. I don’t know much about photographing but I love to see the uniqueness of photographs….. Somehow, pictures viewed from a lense is far more different that what a naked eye can see….
Nice Job….. Keep it up and hope to see more!!
Thanks Lydia, appreciate the compliments. Sometimes, more often than not, a photo just focuses the eye on what is already there. That is the beauty of photography.
Wow, you’re a great photographer! I’m a fan already. thanks for sharing your photos with us! I can learn a lot from you! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Natasja…..just checked out your site and Flickr account and you have some great work too. The meatpacking district and virgina during fall sets are cool!
I love Utah but I didn’t get to go to any of the national parks because we were riding across country on a bus to California. I will go back to utah someday. It is a beautiful place.
You could spend months exploring Utah!
